Planet

As a business, we understand we have an impact on the environment, and acknowledge it is our responsibility to manage our relationship with the natural world, continually looking for ways to reduce impact and increase efficiencies.

Climate impact

The fashion industry is often cited as one of the most impactful sectors in terms of climate and nature, and changing this status will require industry-wide effort, innovation, and collaboration.

An important first step for any fashion brand is measuring its climate impact across its direct emissions and indirect emissions. For fashion, the majority of emissions are generated through the manufacturing, distribution, use, and disposal phases.

Carbon is one of our focal areas as we move forward. Using industry-leading experts, we’ve already measured our footprint for FY22 and are set to measure our FY23 and 24 so we can set our baseline and develop science-based targets to reduce impact across our direct and indirect operations. From there, we will develop a reduction roadmap to keep us on track.

Ecosystems

Beyond carbon, fashion is also a significant contributor to pollution and ecosystem health decline, including water, soil, and wildlife. We recognise our responsibility to address these issues and acknowledge there are no quick for such complex problems. It is definitely a journey, and here are some of our initial steps.

Waste

Our waste-reduction journey sits across all our operations and products – from initiatives at head office and instore, to packaging, circular design principles, to useful life extension of products. Beyond
this, we plan on working with our partners to identify ways to reduce and reuse waste in our supply chains.

Chemicals

Fashion is a chemical-intensive industry, and we are on a mission to ensure responsible chemical management across the supply chains that make our products. Our restricted chemical and responsible management policies are in place and communicated in our Supplier Handbook to ensure the people who make our products are kept safe and ensure the local environment is protected from harmful chemical pollution.
